BHOPAL: After ensuring victory of most of the Congress defectors, the BJP has launched a project of their ideological assimilation in the party. For this the BJP organised a two day training camp. The camp was attended among others by Jyotiraditya Scindia. Besides Congress defectors, the camp was also attended by the old party members.
The party plans to hold more such camps to impart training to newcomers from Congress on saffron ideology, BJPs history and national security.
“The training programmes are for all party workers and are aimed to educating about BJP’s ideology, methodology and history. BJP workers’ dedication, sacrifice and austerity have turned the party into world’s biggest political outfit. The newcomers will also learn about Central and state government schemes for the benefit of the public” said BJP state president V. D. Sharma.
The event has two objectives, first to inform workers and leaders who come from Congress about the party’s ideology as during recent by-polls it was revealed that there was lack of companionship between Jyotiraditya Scindia supporters and BJP workers. Besides, many newcomers were not aware of the saffron ideology and traditions, apart from poll management tactics.
The workers attended various sessions for master trainers addressed by experts, including former ministers and office-bearers.
“The training will educate the party workers in 1,059 mandals of 56 organisational districts about the history and development of BJP, party’s responsibilities, idea of working like a family, Antyodaya schemes and benefits given to the public during last six years of PM Narendra Modi’s rule, party’s functioning and role in organisational structure” Sharma said.
“We will educate workers about the achievements of the state and Central governments, personality development effective use of social media and national security” said organising general secretary Suhas Bhagat.
Scindia, who reached Bhopal to attend the camp interacting with media said that the public has given a befitting reply to Congress’s ‘bikauvstikau’ campaign against the saffron party in the bypolls. He also said that BJP candidates who lost the by-polls will be given responsibility by the party organisation soon.
“The victory belongs to the public and I salute them. Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior leaders J. P. Nadda and Amit Shah, the country will prosper and public confidence will increase. The credit of the victory also goes to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan” said Scindia, after reaching the state capital. He was given a rousing welcome by party workers and his supporters.
Scindia is also likely to attend the party’s two-day workshop for master trainers and workers ahead of the civic polls in the state.
Despite Scindia’s efforts to pacify complaints about sabotage, several defeated candidates continue to allege that there was planned sabotage. A week after the by-poll results, resentment is brewing within BJP leaders who lost despite the party’s significant victory. BJP nominees and supporters of Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia, Raghuraj Kansana and Munnalal Goyal have blamed insiders for their defeat in the by-polls. Kansana has also demanded action against leaders who allegedly sabotaged the by-polls.
“I lost the seat not because of public support to Congress but sabotage by senior leaders of Morena. These leaders play politics sitting inside their houses and cause damage to the party” said Kansana without naming the leaders.
Kansana, who joined BJP after quitting Congress and his post to support his mentor Scindia, lost the by-poll to Congress’s Rakesh Mawai by a margin of 3,751 votes. Sources said BJP leaders of Morena, including former minister Rustam Singh were unhappy over Kansana’s nomination.
Kansana also indirectly hinted that senior BJP leadership did not support him during the by-polls.
“Everybody knows the name of the leaders who sabotaged my chances. They instigated party workers against me. I have conveyed my message to the party high command” said Kansana.
Rustam Singh said that Kansana got huge public support only because of BJP. “Kansana got votes because of BJP and its workers. He should accept his defeat” he said.
Joining Kansana, former MLA Munnalal Goyal also alleged non-cooperation by leaders in his constituency.
Goyal was party nominee from Gwalior (East) high profile constituency from where Scindia, Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and former MP Ministers Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, Maya Singh and Anup Mishra cast their votes.
Goyal also said that the turnout in the constituency has disappointed him.
“Party leaders and workers failed to motivate the voters to come out in large numbers to cast their votes. I lost the election only because of poor turnout. I have informed the party leadership about my concern” Goyal told the media at the BJP headquarters in Bhopal.
Goyal lost to Congress opponent Satish Singh Sikarwar by a margin of 8,555 votes. The voter turnout in the constituency was only 48.14 per cent least among the 28 constituencies that went to the by-polls on November 3. Sources said that if the voting percentage were above 55, Goyal could have easily won the assembly seat by a considerable margin.
Despite defeat at the polls and thus losing the eligibility to continue as minister Girish Dandotiya and Imarti Devi have not resigned from the ministry. They were made Ministers in July despite not being a legislator. According to constitution non-legislators can continue as Minister for a period of six months. But if during this period election is held and the Minister is defeated he should quit the ministry. But both have not resigned so far. This is blatant violation of Constitution. (IPA Service)
