Samajwadi Party And BJP Prepare For Crucial Fight For Mission 2024

By Pradeep Kapoor

LUCKNOW: Inspired by the tremendous response to Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party national President Akhilesh Yadav is planning to mobilise public opinion in Uttar Pradesh for his Mission 2024.

Akhilesh Yadav is now in an aggressive mood to take on BJP which was evident from statements and activities of the party president during recent months. Akhilesh Yadav will hold dialogue with the party leaders and the public during proposed visit to all the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in 75 districts of the state.

Samajwadi Party national President Akhilesh Yadav is keen to announce national and executive of the party before starting his tour to Lok Sabha constituencies. There is realisation that proposed tour of Akhilesh Yadav will eventually help party organisation and workers and mobilise public opinion in favour of the party.

Akhilesh Yadav is also in touch with smaller groups and certain parties to enlarge the vote bank to take on BJP. This time the challenge from BJP is much bigger than 2019 when party contested only 38 seats leaving rest of seats for alliance partner’! At that time Samajwadi Party won only five seats while BSP opened the account and gained 10 seats.

As of now all the parties are busy in building up the organisation and exploring the possibility of alliances and adjustment for Mission 2024.BJP is much ahead of rival political parties in preparing to achieve the target of 80 out of  80 Lok Sabha seats in UP. There have been exercises and discussions initiated by central and state leadership to concentrate on those Lok Sabha seats where party lost in 2019 elections.

Besides playing Hindutva card in the name of Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura, BJP is also concentrating on the issue of governance. BJP government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is busy in making preparation for bringing global investment to UP.

Senior ministers including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited several countries and various states in the country and met potential investors and corporate heads and signed MOUs. Preparations are being made for a global investment summit scheduled in February in Lucknow to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During two-day state executive of BJP, top office-bearers discussed the strategy to achieve the target of winning all the 80 Lok Sabha seats. While addressing the meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath invoked ‘ Aastha’ and ‘ Virasat’ for the spiritual development of the people.

The state BJP executive also endorsed the ‘governance model’ of central and state governments to spread the message to the people that double engine government helped the state. (IPA Service)

An appeal

The legacy of IPA, founded by Nikhil Chakravartty, the doyen of journalism in India, to keep the flag of independent media flying high, is facing the threat of extinction due to the effect of the Covid pandemic. Only an emergency funding can avert such an eventuality. We appeal to all those who believe in the freedom of expression to contribute to this noble cause.
