Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Bharatiya Janata Party has ended 85 percent of corruption in just four-and-a-half years while the Congress party had made no such effort even after ruling India for so long.
Addressing NRIs and Indian-origin people in Varanasi during the inauguration of 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas the prime minister added Congress did nothing to stop the leakage in fund sanctioned by the centre to projects and people.
Without naming Rajiv Gandhi the prime minister alluded his remark that out of Re. 1 just 15 paise reaches to the masses.
Appreciating the efforts of his governance of four-and-a-half years Modi added that his government had given about Rs 5,80,000 crore to masses directly through various schemes.
He defined NRIs as the brand symbols and ambassadors of India’s capabilities in the presence of Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, Minister of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh and others.
Modi said the BJP government has changed the mindset of people that the country is unchangeable.
About the contribution of India on international platform the prime minister said it is recognized across the world and the country has played a good role with regard to environment.
He added the Congress did nothing while in power to cure the disease that was known to them and was also acknowledged.
