Chandigarh, March 14 – Congress M.P. Mr. Deepender Singh Hooda has thanked the UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Railway Minister Mr. Dinesh Trivedi for sanctioning number of new railway projects for Haryana State in railway budget 2012-13, which was presented today in the parliament.
Mr. Hooda describe the railway budget 2012-13 as a good budget as many rail projects and trains have been given to the state. He said that the rail budget 2012-13 has sanctioned new rail line from Rohtak to Hansi via Meham, while new rail line between Hisar to Sirsa via Agroha and Fetahabad has been sent to planning commission for appraisal. He said that with the sanctioning of the new rail line between Hansi and Rohtak via Meham would directly connect Hisar with Delhi and has fulfilled the outstanding demand of the last 40 years. The historical cities of Meham and Hansi would also be connected, he added.
Mr. Deepender Hooda said that it has been his dream that Sirsa should be directly connected to Delhi via Fatehabad, Hisar, Hansi, Meham and Rohtak. The first part of the project has been achieved and the second part that is new rail line between Hisar to Sirsa via Fatehabad would be achieved soon. This would pave the way for Sirsa Delhi Shatabadi Express. He said that he was particularly happy that his promise made to the people of Narnaud, Bawanikhera and Hansi assembly segments of Hisar parliamentary segment during the bye election has been fulfilled with the sanctioning of this much awaited project. He reminded that during the NDA government supported by INLD, this very project was not approved and declared to be non-feasible. It is mention worthy that Mr. Deepender Hooda had been persisting for more railway projects in the state and had met the union railway minister and planning commission officers number of times.
Mr. Hooda said that Haryana has got one railway over bridge at Jakhal, two new passenger trains between Panipat to Rohtak (Daily) and Rewari-Phulhera. Similarly, passenger trains from Jind-Sirsa has been extended upto Hisar, Delhi-Jind passenger train has been extended upto Narwana and Rewari-Degana passenger train has been extended upto Jodhpur. The electrification of Hisar-Rewari rail route would be completed soon as electrification of Manheru to Hisar has been sanctioned in this budget.
Mr. Hooda said that new rail line of Badi-Kalka, Jakhal/Narwana to Patiala via Samana, Kurukshetra to Patiala, Yamunanagar to Chandigarh via Sadhaura and Naryangarh and Ghanoli-Dehradun via Jagadhari, Surajpur, Kala Amb, Paonta Sahib have been sent to planning commission for appraisal. We would follow those cases with the planning commission so that they could also be sanctioned later, he added.
Mr. Hooda said that survey for new rail line from Pehowa to Ponta Sahib via Jagadhari-Yamunanagar and Sirsa to Sardarshahar will also be taken up in the year 2012-13. He said that the new rail line of Jakhal-Mansa and Panipat-Khukarana railway track will be doubled up in the 2011-12. Similarly, the gauge conversion works at Farukhnagar to Garhi Harsuru rail route will be completed in 2011-12, while the gauge conversion works at Loharu-Sikar will be completed in 2012-13. Palwal to Tuglakabad junction cabin and Hodal to Chata would be doubled up in 2012-13. The rail budget has also sanctioned survey for electrification on Kurukshetra-Kaithal-Narwana, Hisar-Jakhal-Ludhiana and Hisar-Bathinda in 2012-13.
Mr. Deepender Hooda said that the frequency of some trains has also been increased, which would benefit the people of the state. He said that Dibrugarh-Chandigarh express has been increased from one to two days in a week, Chandigarh-Bandra express has been increased from one to two days in a week, Delhi Sarai Rohila-Bikaner superfast express via Rewari has been extended from three to seven days in a week.
The rail project from Jind to Sonipat is already being executed with Haryana Government assistance and will be got expedited for its early completion, he added. He said that many projects have been approved and the other projects would be followed for their approval.
