BHOPAL: At present both the major parties in Madhya Pradesh are taking various steps to strengthen their organisations. Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a state wide campaign to enrol new members. The state leadership has allotted quota to each and every member to enrol new members. Allotment has been done boothwise. The other day all the members of the state council have jointly enrolled new members.
As for Congress is concerned, it is holding rallies after rallies to expose the failure of the ruling party to fulfil promises made by it from time to time. The rallies are being held by their affiliate organisations. So far three rallies have been held. Among these, one was held by Mahila Congress and the other was by youth Congress. According to media reports, rally held by Youth Congress was very impressive. Thousands of youth Congress workers reached Bhopal from various corners of the state. They wanted to gherao the Chief Minster’s official residence. It was with great difficulty police could control them . In the process, both youth congress members and policemen sustained injuries.
At the governmental level, new BJP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is cancelling many decisions or policies of his predecessor Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He has affected major changes in the posting of officers. Changes include from the secretariat level to districts.. Orders of these changes are issued sometime after mid-night.
Some of the major policy decisions taken by Chouhan are also changed. For example what was known as capital project. This project used to take care of various problems of capital of the state. Chouhan abolished this system and merged it into Public works Department. Now Dr. Yadav has decided to restore the capital project.
Shivraj Chouhan repeatedly announced that he would legalise all the illegal colonies in the state. This decision was not liked by many. Now Dr. Yadav has reversed this decision. Many districts and tehsils were carved on the demands of the people. It was thought that accepting these demands would yield votes. But districts and tehsils were formed without any plan.
Now experts will be asked to form them in a systematic manner.
Chief Minister from the day he took oath , has taken various steps to give impression that he is a Hindu ruler. The first measure he took was to control the “azan” from the mosques. Loudspeakers installed in mosques were either removed or were told to make announcement with slow voice. Then he took attention to madarssas. He launched campaign to find out whether they are fake or have government recognition. Then he ordered that Janmashtami should be celebrated in educational institutions. He also announced that anybody who wants to live in Bharat, should be a devotee of Ram and Krishna.
These announcements were opposed by secular parties and organisations. A joint meeting of such organisations was held and it was resolved that ordering educational institutions to celebrate Janmashtami is against the letter and spirit of Constitution. Stating this All India Secular Forum and others organisations said that celebrating one particular religion may divide students and teachers of the educational institutions. Chief Minister who has issued this order forgot that he has taken oath to uphold secular Constitution of India. Steadily, MP chief minister is following his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sharma in Muslim bashing. (IPA Service)
