LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh State Council of Communist Party of India (CPI) has called upon its rank and file to organise demonstrations & rallies throughout the state at District Headquarters on 30th May against galloping price rise & corruption at high places.
CPI has also demanded that Akhilesh Yadav government should ensure purchase of wheat directly from farmers, increasing employment potential of Uttar Pradesh, filling up of vacancies in various government departments, payment of unemployment allowance to all youths in the age group of 20 years to 40 years and improvement in law & order position of state.
The state council meet demanded strengthening the institution of Lokayukta, ordering of investigations by CBI & Enforcement Directorate as per recommendations of Lokayukta, cancellation of sale of 21 sugar mills by Mayawati Government and establishment of AIIMS in all the four corners of Uttar Pradesh etc.
CPI also demanded that Akhilesh Yadav government should give grant of Rs 30,000 to daughters of poor people for their marriage or education. It would be worth mentioning here that Akhilesh Yadav government had announced grant of Rs 30,000 to daughters of only Muslims irrespective their financial position for their marriage and education.
Briefing the deliberations of two-day state council meeting of the party held this week in Lucknow, CPI State Secretary Dr Girish said that the state council also called upon the district committees to contest ensuing municipal elections on party symbols.
CPI State Council also elected 25 member state executive council & 7 member secretariat consisting of Dr Girish, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Arvind Raj Swarup, Ashok Mishra, Vishwanath Shastri, Asha Mishra & Sadruddin Rana. Imtiyaz Ahmad and Arvind Raj Swarup have been elected Assistant Secretaries whereas Pradeep Tewari has been re-elected Treasurer and Working Editor.
CPI General Secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy who inaugurated the meeting remained present throughout the meeting and presented report on international & national political scenario besides decisions of Patna Party Congress held recently.
He demanded that Akhilesh Yadav Government must fulfil its election promises. On completing the studies, the student becomes unemployed in the age group of 18-20 years. After 35 years, people do settle anyhow. Government must not disappoint this segment, he said.
Mr Reddy said it was unfortunate that people could not understand the claim made by Samajwadi Party regarding giving unemployment allowance. The age factor was completely ignored and people were misinformed by the leaders of Samajwadi party
CPI general secretary said that during election campaign also, people were not informed of the age group which would be benefitted by unemployment allowance.
State secretary Dr Girish also presented the monitoring report on UP Assembly polls and performance of the party candidates. More then 40 members participated in the discussion on assembly polls.
CPI national secretary Atul Anjan also expressed his views on the demands of the party and its future programmes. He also spoke on performance of Akhilesh Yadav government during last one month. (IPA)
