At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Congress president Sonia Gandhi launched into a tirade against the BJP, saying the BJP was spreading “communal prejudice and hatred.” She said: “Let me also share with you something that should worry each and every one as Indians. When we should be tackling the coronavirus unitedly, the BJP continues to spread the virus of communal prejudice and hatred.” Lauding the efforts of frontline workers, Sonia said: “The doctors, nurses, paramedics, health workers, sanitation workers and essential service providers, NGO and the lakhs of citizens providing relief to the most needy all over India. Their dedication and determination truly inspire us all.” “Sections of our society, especially farmers, labourers, migrant workers, face acute hardship due to lockdown,” she said, adding the virus has increased disturbingly both in spread and speed since past three weeks. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the success of lockdown is to be judged finally on our ability to tackle COVID-19. “Cooperation between the Centre and States is key to success of our fight against Covid,” he said.

GEHLOT COOPERATES WITH OTHER CMS TO SEND KOTA STUDENTS BACK HOME
After fighting with coronavirus in the industrial town of Bhilwara, now Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is focusing on coaching institutes city of Kota, where more than 25000 students of UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh are struggling to reach their home. Although the chief minister claims that his government is providing food and security to them, but the students are insisting on going to their homes. Seeing their mental health issues, the chief minister Ashok Ghelot has talked to and requested the UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh chief ministers in this regard. As a result, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has arranged for more than 500 buses to bring back the students of UP to their home. More than 200 buses have already reached Agra and Jhansi with students where the doctors and nurses are screening the students, and after that they will be sent to their homes.
BIHAR MIFFED WITH YOGI OVER BRINGING STUDENTS BACK TO UP
Bihar government is displeased with UP CM Yogi Adityanath that he had arranged for 500 buses to bring back Kota students. Bihar government has claimed that this is a clear violation of the national lockdown. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has talked to Union home minister Amit Shah and complained about the shifting of students to UP. Bihar chief secretary Deepak Kumar has already written a letter to home secretary Ajay Bhalla on 13 April that there are more than 50 cases of Coronavirus was found in Kota therefore the students should not be send to their home. He also requested Ajay Bhalla to instruct the DM of Kota regarding the shifting of students. Despite that, the students were allowed to reach their respective homes in Uttar Pradesh. At this, Nitish Kumar again complained to home minister. At present, Nitish is under pressure from students’ parents, opposition leaders as well as the public-at-large of Bihar to bring back the students.

UTTARAKHAND SEES BJP-CONG COMPETITION OVER FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Both the parties, BJP and Congress, in Uttarakhand are busy in showing that they are more concerned towards the poor and needy. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, BJP has started Modi Rasoi and distribution of food packets in the state. Taking a cue, Congress has also started the distribution of foods in the name of Sonia Rasoi, subsequently picked up by theYouth Congress, which has begun food distribution calling it the “Rahul Food Kit”. Soon after, senior Congress leader Satpal Brahmachari has also started langar in front of his ashram Radha Krishna Dham for providing food for the poor and migrant workers. The Uttarakhand administration has ordered Satpal Brahmachari to close down the langar. Mahant Ravindra Puri of Niranjni Akhara has started distribution of food for the needy and also donated 69 lakhs of rupees to the chief minister’s fund.
