The parliamentary panel on defence has summoned the three service chiefs to get a status report on the preparedness of the country for a battle. All three defence chiefs will depose before the committee on the April 20.
The appearance of three service chiefs before the parliamentary panel comes weeks after a letter from Army chief General VK Singh to PM Manmohan Singh was leaked. He warned in his letter dated March 12 that the country’s security is at risk.
The three service chiefs will meet a cross-section of MPs on April 20 to explain their troops’ preparedness.
Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma has appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence to give clarification on the issue.
