LUCKNOW: Samajwadi national president Akhilesh Yadav has consolidated his position as leader PDA (backwards, dalits and minorities) after his opposition to waqf amendment bill 2025 in Parliament. The manner in which Akhilesh Yadav and his party MPs launched attack on BJP on the issue of waqf amendment Bill 2025 has strengthened his hold over minority community.
Entire country in general and minority community in particular are watching debate on waqf amendment bill 2025. There is no doubt the leaders like Nitish Kumar and Chandra Babu Naidu and their parties will be impacted by the minority community voters in next elections.
Akhilesh Yadav always opposed Waqf Amendment bill 2025 not only inside the Parliament, he tried to create public awareness through his speeches all over the country. Similarly Akhilesh Yadav took bold stand when his party MP Ramji Lal Suman was attacked by members of upper caste Karni Sena at his Agra residence over his alleged comment on Rajasthan ruler for inviting Mughal dynasty founder Baber to India.
Akhilesh Yadav not only defended his party MP but launched attack on saffron brigade and said that BJP was behind attack on dalit MP Ramji Lal Suman. He further said that it was very unfortunate that CM Yogi Adityanath was present in Agra when residence of dalit MP of Samajwadi Party was attacked. The SP President demanded that CM Adityanath should order high level inquiry and take action against the culprits or it would send the message that BJP was behind the attack.
Samajwadi Party leader and MP Dimple Yadav, wife of Akhilesh Yadav also condemned the attack on senior leader and dalit MP Ramji Lal Suman and accused BJP for supporting elements who attacked the residence of Ramji Lal Suman.
Prof Ram Gopal Yadav Samajwadi Party MP and leader of his group raised the issue of attack on the residence of dalit MP Ramji Lal Suman in Rajya Sabha. Prof Ram Gopal Yadav demanded security of dalit MP Ramji Lal Verma who himself is a Member of Rajya Sabha. Raising the issue Prof Ram Gopal Yadav said that Ramji Lal Suman was receiving threat calls through social media and government should take adequate measures for the security of dalit MP.
Akhilesh led the demonstration of his party MPs outside the parliament with each member carrying posters ‘Suman ki baat’. Akhilesh Yadav sent uncle and senior leader of party Shivpal Yadav to Agra and visit the residence of dalit MP Ramji Lal Suman and express solidarity.
Samajwadi Party national President Akhilesh Yadav asked his party leaders and workers to hit the road to launch state-wide agitation to protest against attack on PDA MP Ramji Lal Suman after the Eid festival.
There is no doubt the manner in which the SP leader handled the attack on the residence of dalit MP by members of upper caste mainly Rajputs represented in Karni Sena, will help politically in further mobilisation of members of schedule caste and scheduled tribe for Samajwadi Party which emerged as third largest group in Lok Sabha after BJP and Congress.
