LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national President and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is now wooing powerful Brahmins of Uttar Pradesh beside consolidating hold on PDA( pichda, dalit and alpsangkhayak) to unseat BJP in 2027 assembly polls. Akhilesh Yadav is deliberately playing Brahmin victim card during the regime of Thakur CM Yogi Adityanath to win over the support of powerful community of UP to win the election.
Akhilesh Yadav is aware that restlessness in brahmin community could help Samajwadi Party in creating people’s awareness against BJP regime led by a thakur chief minister Yogi Adityanath who is mahant of Gorakhnathpeeth patronised by thakur community.
As part of a strategy ,Samajwadi Party organised a daylong conference in the name of intellectual community on May 7 which was attended by prominent Brahmin leaders including former speaker Mata Prasad Pande and others. The presence of prominent Brahmin leaders was very impressive.
Akhilesh Yadav attended the conference held on May 7 at party headquarters and promised to fight for the community which was allegedly victimised during the current regime of Thakur chief minister.
It was pointed out that the family members of eastern UP Brahmin leader late Hari Shankar Tewari of Gorakhpur who was opposed to Yogi Adityanath was being victimised by the BJP government. The list of prominent Brahmins who were killed and victimised was read at the conference by Samajwadi Party leaders.
It was also pointed out that during the posting of bureaucrats and police thanas only one caste was given prominence while Brahmins were ignored. The participants at the conference chanted the name of Bhagwan Parsuram who was a Brahmin saint.
Samajwadi Party was also critical of Lucknow district administration which created problem during Parsuram Yatra in the state capital few days back. Samajwadi Party national president repeatedly said that he was confident that BJP would be defeated by PDA with the help of powerful community of Brahmins. Akhilesh Yadav has already announced that his party will contest UP Polls under INDIA alliance with Congress.
Significantly Rahul Gandhi too recently announced during his tour to UP that his party will contest in alliance with Samajwadi Party to unseat BJP. Significantly Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are spreading the message that they were responsible for NDA government to announce caste census despite earlier opposition.
Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are confident that the announcement of caste census will further consolidate backwards and dalits for their benefits. (IPA Service)
