BHOPAL: There is a famous Hindi saying “Ulta Chor Kotwal to Datea”(thief scolding police officer). This saying fully applies to the two weeklies “Organiser” and “Panchjanya” patronised by the RSS. Almost in every issue the two weeklies run a column titled “Narad”. Incidentally RSS holds the view that Narad was the first reporter of human civilisation. Bhopal based Journalism University, when it was controlled by the RSS, used to tell its students that they must learn from Narad if they want to be a perfect investigative journalist. Here I will like to mention what the two weeklies wrote in their issues published in the month of July 2019.
The two magazines claim that so called secular media hides truth while reporting incidents in which Muslims happen to be victim. In fact the two magazines claim that the truth is just the contrary. Here I quote from a report which appeared in the “Organiser” dated July 21, 2019. The report is published with the headline “Hindus are the real victims of mob lynching”.
“Vishwa Hindu Parishand on July 8 said a section of the journalists, politicians and Jihadi elements seems to be conspiring to instigate riots against Hindus. In a statement, joint general secretary of VHP Dr. Surendra Jain said the ‘so called mob lynching’ incidents have been exaggerated and highlighted in recent past, goes far to prove that the Khan Market gang and politicians of the secular mafia, seem to be busy in instigating the Muslim community for a violent attack on Hindus. He said in the Tabrez Ansari incident of Jharkhand it is now clear that the death did not take place because of public beating. Despite that Muslims organised huge demonstrations in Surat, Ranchi, Bhopal and other cities raising anti-Hindu and anti-national slogans, and even attacked the security force. Temples were attacked and their idols desecrated in many places. It is a very shameful act of instigation toward Hindus.
“The way lies are being propagated against the Hindu community and Hindu organisations, it seems the whole exercise is politically motivated. It was falsely portrayed that Muslims were beaten up for not saying, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in places like Gurugram, Begusarai, Karim Nagar, Delhi, Cooch Behar, Kanur etc. Despite these allegations having been proved false, there was no clarification forthcoming on it, which proves the malicious intent of those people he added.
“The way 5-6 incidents, all half-truths, were falsely used as propaganda material to fuel anti-Hindu and anti-national atmosphere, seems to be a part of larger anti-national conspiracy. The whole world knows that Hinds are peace-loving and patient. If it was not a peace-loving community, then one can well guess the kind of reaction the desecration of Hindu temple could have wrought. The VHP wants to know from the journalists and politicians how they and the so-called minorities would have reacted if the mosques were targets of attacks instead of the temples?
“The VHP released a list of some incidents to unveil the conspiracy and prove that Hindus are the real victims of mob lynching. Wasn’t the genocide of Kasmiri Hindus an act of lynching? The dastardly killing of Gau Rakshak Arun Mahore in Agra, Dhruv Tyagi, was publicly lynched by Muslims while trying to save the honour of his daughter in Delhi, Ankit Saxena, who was sawed to death in the national capital are examples of mob lynching. Why these Incidents fail to arouse their compassion? Why do the journalists, who have transformed Dadri into a ‘pilgrimage’ maintain a stoic silence on the mob lynching of Hindus?”
Both “Organiser” and “Panchjanya” accuse the ‘Secular Media’ of being too soft with Muslims. “Secular Media protects Muslims even if they commit rapes on Hindu women.” ‘Panchjanya’ cites may incidents in which ‘Secular Media’ defended guilty like IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt. “Despite the fact that Bhatt was found guilty of heinous crime like custodial death, this media portrays him as hero.” The weekly dated July 7 2019 besides many Indian newspapers also blames BBC of describing Bhatt as a martyr. The weekly also alleges that the ‘Secular Media coverage of ‘jihadi’ attack on a bus in Jharkhand was totally baseless . Media blacked out a Muslim attempt to rape a Hindu girl. In another issue ‘Panchjanya’ claimed that the coverage of Karnataka drama was totally partisan and presented Yediyurappa as a villain and Kumarsway as an innocent victim.
‘Panchjanya’ dated July 28 2019 published an exclusive report in which it is informed that Hindus in big numbers deserted from a town (Prahlad Nagar) in Uttar Pradesh because Muslims have made their life miserable. The weekly published pictures of houses with the inscription “Makan Bikau Hai” (this house is for sale). In its July 7 issue it published report with the title “Sikh forced to leave Shillong”. The report blames Christians for causing terror on Sikhs in this town of Meghalaya.
The weeklies however black out reports of BJP leaders found guilty of heinous crimes including Unnao episode. (IPA Service)
