Alleged 26/11 Mumbai terror-attacks mastermind, Tahawwur Rana, the Pakistani-origin Canadian is up against the brag “Modi hai toh mumkin hai”. Rana’s planning took the lives of 166. Now, he is here in flesh and blood and the feeling one gets is that Rana is headed for the boot-hill!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted Rana’s hide nailed to the wall 14 years ago and his thinking hasn’t changed one wee bit in the intervening years. Finding a hangman wouldn’t be a problem; more than likely, PM Modi will put the best ‘IB’ man on the job!
Tahawwur Rana should have kept an eye on old Twitter. On June 10 2011, the then Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, tweeted his outrage at the failure of the UPA government to get Rana! The old tweet is back in circulation and gives a glimpse of how Modi’s mind works.
The discovery of the 2011 tweet proves the gods are against Tahawwur Rana. Now that he is here in ‘India that is Bharat’, forget quarter! India’s courts are different from the courts in the United States and going by Modi’s 2011 tweet, the future looks bleak for the 64-year-old.
A former doctor who served the Pakistan Army, Tahawwur Rana turned terror-enabler because his brain was wired wrong. Otherwise, why would a life-saver turn life-taker? Rana is that person who chose the profession he shouldn’t have chosen!
That being said, what about Modi? When Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat he had quite a reckless reputation and early in his CM-stint, Modi was told by then premier Atal Bihari Vajpayee to stick to ‘Raj dharma’.
Tahawwur Hussain Rana has to wait for the outcome of his trial in an Indian court. The surety that Rana will hang from the gallows is based on the reception Modi’s 2011 tweet is getting on ‘X’.”Modi’s quiet diplomacy” is the toast of all kudos and credit.
Rana was “successfully extradited” and “formally arrested”. He will be kept in Delhi’s notoriously unkempt Tihar Jail and going by Modi’s 2011 tweet, Rana can straightaway kiss goodbye to his earthly stay.
So, who is the Grim Reaper? The 2011 tweet told of what Modi thought of Tahawwur Rana and what Modi thought of the United States’ judiciary. In 2011 Chief Minister Narendra Modi blasted the UPA government. What would a Modi government have done, arm-twist the US court, perhaps send a couple of Mirage 2000?
“US declaring Tahawwur Rana innocent in Mumbai attack has disgraced the sovereignty of India & it is a “major foreign policy setback”,” read Modi’s tweet of June 10, 2011 and the legions of Modi-bhakts crowed “Modi hai toh mumkin hai” and “another promise has been fulfilled today” wrote an X-user.
Such posts feed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s huge appetite for glory on the run! Tahawwur Rana has no idea he’s landed right in the lap of an “Eye for an Eye” because UPA failed and Modi has to make an example of someone!
Reports say “Rana would help the probe agencies expose the role of Pakistani state actors behind the dastardly Mumbai terror attacks that claimed 166 lives.” And he would be taken on a guided tour of India. Rana had visited Hapur and Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Kochi in Kerala, Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Mumbai in Maharashtra.
Then, in the month of November 2008, Rana’s wife Samraz Rana Akhtar was with him. This time around, NIA sleuths will escort Rana. But, with wife or without wife, Tahawwur Rana will get his lot, one way or the other, says Modi’s tweet, more than 14 years too late. (IPA Service)
