Thanking voters in Assam for support in the panchayat polls the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Saturday people of northeast have chosen BJP and its allies.
Modi appreciated his Assam BJP team for the success in panchayat polls in a tweet and added further that it is their privilege to have the honor of fulfilling aspirations of the people in northeast and taking the region to new heights.
He continued, “I am sure the Karyakartas will continue raising issues of public welfare and work towards Assam’s growth.”
Over the last few years, the BJP and the NDA family have become the preferred choice of the Northeast. We consider it our privilege that we have the honour of fulfilling the aspirations of the Northeast and taking the region to new heights of progress.

Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal too thanked the people who voted for good governance and development.
He added that people from plains to hills, and from Barak to Brahmaputra valley took part in the panchayat elections and revealed their faith on good governance at state level as well as for center.
Sonowal congratulated the winners and urged them to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system in the country and deliver public services in a transparent way.
Touted as the fore-runner of next year’s Lok Sabha elections the panchayat polls witnessed octave war of words between BJP and regional party AGP. Both the parties tried to downplay each other with accusations and counter accusations.
BJP ministers also used helicopters in their campaigning.
