LUCKNOW: The suspension of Kanpur CMO Hari Dutt Nemi has exposed the large scale corruption and infighting in Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP at the very high level. The open confrontation between the district magistrate of Kanpur Jitendra Bahadur Singh IAS and CMO Hari Dutt Nemi exposed the sharp division in BJP which will damage the party in long run.
Former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav alleged that it was a fight between Chief Minister and his Deputy Chief Minister which was reflected through open confrontation between a Thakur DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh and a dalit CMO Hari Dutt Nemi.
It is open fact that the DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh has the support of Thakur DM Yogi Adityanath while CMO Hari Dutt Nemi had the backing of Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak.
The confrontation started when DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh made the inspection of the district hospital in February and found more than 30 staff members absent. Then he wrote a letter to Principle Secretary Health against CMO for mismanagement in in the hospitals and primary health centres. The DM also charged the CMO for arbitrary transfers of local doctors and careless behaviour towards the hospitals and PHCs which led to deterioration in health care system in district.
CMO Hari Dutt Nemi also alleged that he was under pressure from DM to clear payment of Rs 1.6 crores to JM Pharma allegedly chargesheeted by CBI. The CMO said how could he make the payment when there was a report of more than 150 pages of departmental inquiry against the said firm.
Making serious charge of caste discrimination CMO Hari Dutt Nemi challenged the style of functioning of DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh.
Local BJP MLAs in Kanpur we’re also divided while some supported CMO and wrote to government to stop transfer of Hari Dutt Nemi. So much so, local MLA Speaker of UP Assembly also wrote in favour of CMO Hari Dutt Nemi.
Similarly, the other group of BJP MLAs openly supported DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh and sought action against CMO Hari Dutt Nemi for alleged charges of corruption and deterioration in health care system in the important district like Kanpur.
Ultimately DM Jitendra Bahadur Singh enjoying backing of CM Yogi Adityanath won the battle with the suspension of CMO Hari Dutt Nemi who had the backing of the Speaker of UP Assembly and Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak. (IPA Service)
