China’s military might now clearly dominates India’s defence policy, which has raised concern over Beijing making inroads into our immediate neighbourhood.
Noting that China has upgraded it’s military force projection against India through rapid modernisation, the Defence Ministry on Monday said the country was ‘conscious and watchful’ of Beijing’s rising military profile in the immediate and extended neighbourhood.

With rapid infrastructure development in the Tibet Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Province, China has considerably ungraded it’s military force projection and application capability against India. This has also improved China’s overall strategic and operational flexibility in the border region with India.
The rapid pace of the development of air infrastructure in Tibet coupled with China’s rail and road development projects have raised concerns in India as it proves to be a massive advantage to China to move troops and equipment in the remote region much faster than India can.
The report also talked about Chinese footprints in India’s immediate neighbourhood, which are increasing progressively.
