Facebook may soon lure its users with ad-free version of the social platform, but it will not come free. It will be a paid subscription.
It is learned the Mark Zuckerberg-owned company lately has been conducting market research to assure whether paid version of Facebook could be able to lure people to sign up. However, as of now there has been no official word on the move either from the company or from other reliable sources.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg writes the company has toyed with the idea of offering users an ad-free subscription version of Facebook in near future.
During the first quarter earnings call the company’s COO Sheryl Sandberg said they are thinking over several other forms of monetizing and subscription-based version is in the list.
He added, “We’ll always continue to consider everything.”
Last month CEO Zuckerberg said Facebook will always have a free version and his comment was seen as strange then.
Then, Bloomberg was in the process of unearthing the truth of paid version.
