When we are in a room, there will be ideas thrown about, diverse thoughts. Free speech and free thought. But you want conformity. Linear thought. Your view should prevail. The courts should read your mind and rule accordingly. Sabarimala or Ayodhya, it doesn’t matter. Babri Masjid is debris. The bricks on display are all for Lord Ram! What Supreme Court order? Sabarimala is out of bounds for the ready to bleed. Period!
The other side doesn’t agree. It chokeholds you, hogties you naked in downtown Kochi, cuffs you and marches you to the slammer under sections you didn’t dream of. Your ideas are left on the sidewalk, to stew in the sun. The other side’s job is to enact law as laid. And faith has no place in its math. The Kannur model can do the same wonders the Gujarat model could. Look at Pinarayi Vijayan, isn’t he the chief minister? The same as Narendra Modi was.
The Kannur model is effective. Its message reaches everybody standing in the way. But it is bloody, brutal and nauseating. So, Pinarayi Vijayan, alleged Marxist-turned-Congressman AP Abdullakutty in 2014, suggested to fellow CPM travellers in 2008 that the Bengal model was cleaner: Kidnap and bury the enemy alive with a sack of salt for company! Leaves no blood traces. The Bengal model is filmed in a Dhanush movie. Sweet on life, Abdullakutty soon parted company with salty Pinarayi.
Amit Shah’s climb is no less a demonstration. The Gujarat model is not about development alone, it is allegedly also about elimination. Amit Shah has seen the insides of a jail. So has Pinarayi Vijayan. And now Ayyappa activist Rahul Easwar, disowned by the Tazhamon Tantri Kudumbam, too. Easwar, with his “humble” talk “with folded hands”, mutes the language of the militant while armed with a cache of walkie-talkies and ‘Plan B’ to blood-let ready to bleed feminists.
The communist ideology is to bring everyone down to the level of the proletariat. Erase distinctions, bring about conformity and equality, including gender equality and women’s right to worship regardless of age or traditions. The sort of chokehold people of faith, the Ayyappa devotees and the state units of the BJP-RSS, are fighting on sidewalks and main streets in Kerala. The communists will not yield. For the revolution, of course. Failure has been global: Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela… But, what the hell, toil on. Bury the opposition.
Arson-gutted Chinmayananda school of thought-dropout Swami Sandeepananda Giri wants to chokehold blind faith and leave it to stew on the Sabarimala sidewalk. He has learned by rote the Gita and the Upanishads and cleverly blurts out Sanskrit shlokas to win debating points against Namboodiri Rahul Easwar. It riles illogical Rahul Easwar and can be as effective as the Bengal sack of salt. Swami Sandeepananda and Commie Pinarayi are comrades in God’s Own Country.
Coming to the rest of the country, the “60 second” chokehold Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi applied on the Ayodhya temple issue has put Ram on hold and Amit Shah’s people – sages and favoured bias-partisan (as opposed to bipartisan) talking heads on TV – do not like it one bit. They are particularly livid that the Supreme Court doesn’t think Ayodhya is Priority No.1. “What else can be priority?” asked the anchor. “After 132 years on the backburner, what else can be priority, Your Honour?”
SC Justices do not answer rhetorical questions. Besides, if the CJI answers, he will drown people in contempt, so many are in contempt post 60 seconds! Maybe, he wants the executive to commit suicide. Take the ordinance route. Sage advice also says so. The RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas and Shiv Sena – the entire Sangh Parivaar sounds desperate but optimistic.
Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi return from Japan having seen Akira Kurosawa’s Roshomon? The Roshomon effect occurs when the same event is given contradictory interpretations by different individuals involved. The case with Sabarimala and Ayodhya are similar. There are opposing interpretations of the same event in both cases. On Sabarimala, the court has ruled. On Ram temple, the court is playing possum.
The BJP’s 2019 electoral fortunes are linked to both events. Ergo it will require two ordinances if Modi takes that route. One for Ayodhya Ram. The other for Sabarimala Ayyappa. Will that be one too many? Whatever, both Ayyappa ‘bhakta’ and Ram ‘bhakt’ are waiting for god to return! The Nirmohi Akhara is a good a place to apply chokeholds as is the Tallasseri Kalari.
The current rage in Kerala is Kayamkulam Kochunni, a movie on a real-life brigand who knew the right Kalaripayattu chokeholds to leave Brahmins and British alike on the sidewalk. The movie released last week and reviews have been rather muted because of the noise around Sabarimala. But it is worth a look-see. The Kannur model borrows from Kalari and Kayamkulam Kochunni. The Gujarat model is all about encounters on the sidewalk. Both don’t hold a candle to the buried alive Bengal model. (IPA Service)
