BHOPAL: Both BJP and Congress have decided to take several steps to streamline their organization. BJP has decided to launch “Gaon Chalo Basti Chalo Abhiyan (Let us go to villages and communities) from April 9 to April 12. April 6 is Party’s foundation day. On this day party’s flag will be unfurl on party members house. On the same day party’s one lakh active members will hold meetings in every booth. In the gaon chalo abhiyan every ordinary member has been asked between April 9 and April 12 will learn party’s history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Welfare Programme on April 14 party will celebrate Dr. Ambedkar’s birthday.
The BJP which was cornered before the Lok Sabha election over the Constitution and after the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament is going to organise various events on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. The BJP will organise the recitation of the preamble of the Constitution on April 14. Along with this, there will be a discussion on various points of the speeches of Ambedkar whose statues will be decked up. Lectures on the works of Ambedkar will also be organised.
After a meeting with the senior leaders, BJP’s state unit president VD Sharma said the party workers had been told to hold various events on Ambedkar Jayanti. The BJP has been trying to woo SC people after Shah’s statement in Parliament by focusing on Ambedkar. As part of the programme, all the public representatives will stay in villages at least for eight hours on the foundation of the party. A meeting was held in the BJP’s state office for these programmes. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and other senior leaders were present at the meeting.
The party has decided to initiate massive campaign to draw young boys and girls to attend Schools. It has decided to name of School to Sandipar Ashram. At present they are known as Chief Minister Rise Schools. From the foundation day the party will ask the government to enhance the pensions of senior citizens, physically handicapped from Rs. 600/- per month to Rs 1500. Besides Rs. 337 crores have been provided in Social Security Schemes.
As for the Congress, the party has decided to ask workers to gather in Delhi to apprise Rahul Gandhi with the factors which led to the party’s total rout in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Meanwhile, state government has enforced total ban on the sale of liquor in 19 religious cities and areas. The ban has come into force from April 1. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced the liquor ban decision and it was approved by the cabinet at its meeting held in Maheshwar town, a place closely associated with legendary medieval-era queen Lok-mata Ahilyabai Holkar, on January 24.
According to the decision, all liquor shops and bars will be closed down in the entire urban limits of Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Orchha, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Multai, Mandsaur and Amarkantak and in gram panchayat limits of Salkanpur, Kundalpur, Bandakpur, Barmankalan, Barmankhurd and Linga, the official said.
While announcing the ban, Yadav said his govt has taken a historic step towards de-addiction and cited “public faith and religious reverence” associated with these cities and rural areas as reasons for the move. The religious places where the liquor ban will take effect from Tuesday are spread across one municipal corporation, half a dozen municipal councils and an equal number of village panchayats.
There was total ban on the sale of liquor till 1963. The ban was lifted by D.P. Mishra the then Chief Minister of the state. The liquor sale was banned in the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. The ban was imposed by the then Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao but it also failed to yield result and was finally lifted critics fact that the ban will result loss in revenue besides enormous finance to ensure the ban is enforced. (IPA Service)
