LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s announcement in Prayagraj that his party will contest 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh under INDIA alliance has boosted the morale of his PDA (pichda, dalit and alpsangkhayak) core programme and the cadres of both the SP and the Congress
Much significance is attached to the confidence of Akhilesh Yadav that he asserted that PDA will defeat BJP from power in UP. It was only on the combined strength of INDIA Alliance which fought 2024 Lok Sabha polls in UP Samajwadi Party succeeded by securing 37 seats and emerged as third largest group in Lok Sabha after BJP and Congress.
It was only due to the perception that Rahul Gandhi was fighting against BJP and the manner in which he along with Akhilesh we’re able to convince the dalit voters to protect the Constitution, the Congress also gained the vote share and number of seats in Lok Sabha.
Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are under tremendous pressure from backwards, dalits and minorities to stay together to fight against BJP. For the first time under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, the selection of district and city presidents was done while giving major share to OBC, dalits and minorities.
It was idea of Rahul Gandhi that during oath taking ceremony of district and city presidents, all Congress minded people who had been earlier ignored we’re called which infused confidence in them to work for the party.
Deepa Kaul, cousin sister of Mrs Indira Gandhi said that there was a huge crowd in her own district Ghaziabad when new president took over as all Congress minded persons were traced and called for the event.
Rahul Gandhi interacted with newly appointed district and city presidents and said they would play important role in the selection of candidates for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha. This action will certainly strengthen the party at the grass-roots.
The manner in which Akhilesh Yadav defended dalit party MP Ramji Lal Suman who is being continuously under attack from BJP and Karni Sena which gheraoed his Agra residence, has boosted the moral of PDA.
Akhilesh Yadav not only defended his party MP inside the Parliament but staged demonstration outside which was joined by other MPs also.
In order to express his solidarity with party MP Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav visited the residence of Ramji Lal Suman and said that Karni Sena was nothing but BJP workers who had attacked a dalit MP.
There is a realisation in backwards, dalits and minorities that only combined strength of INDIA alliance can defeat the Saffron brigade or it would be very difficult the elections.
That is why it is all the more important for Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav to stay together for their own survival and remain relevant to win the state. (IPA Service)
