On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the party will demolish the wall that is restricting reservation to 50 per cent for the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Schedule Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) while pushing for a caste census across the country. The Ahmedabad Session, themed “Nyaypath: Sankalp, Samarpanaur Sangharsh,” was attended by more than 1,700 elected and co-opted AICC members. CONGRESS PROPOSES TO FIGHT FOR SAVING INDIAN CONSTITUTION AGAINST BJP ATTACKS
The Congress asserted its idea of nationalism binds people together, while the “pseudo-nationalism” of the BJP-RSS seeks to divide them. The party made the assertion in its ‘Nyaypath’ resolution adopted at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session held on the banks of the Sabarmati river. In the resolution, the party stated that nationalism symbolizes the protection of rights and the equity of progress for the marginalised, the oppressed, and the underprivileged. The path of sacrifice, liberalism and all-encompassing pluralism of the Indian National Congress is truly the embodiment of Indian nationalism, the party’s resolution said. The party said the constitutionally guaranteed foundation of social justice can only be strengthened and carried forward by a nationwide “caste census”. On farmers issue, the Congress vowed to enact a law for legal guarantee of MSP, fixation of MSP at 50 per cent over cost price and take decisive steps for a debt-free future for our farmers. The Congress also passed a specific resolution related to Gujarat and said it is committed to bring a positive change in Gujarat.

SENIOR BIHAR BJP LEADER WANTS CHIEF MINISTER NITISH KUMAR AS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER
Ahead of Bihar assembly elections, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey strongly advocated that Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) President Nitish Kumar should be made the Deputy Prime Minister, creating ripples in political circles. Choubey said “In the upcoming Bihar polls, where our target is to win 225 seats, we definitely need the leadership of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar ji,” Adding, “But I definitely feel that now Bihar wishes our Nitish bhai should become convener of NDA. If he is given the status of deputy prime minister in Narendra Modi’s team, it will be a great blessing for Bihar.” Choubey’s statement is being viewed as BJP’s future plan to make an honourable exit for Nitish Kumar, who is seeking his next term as chief minister after assembly elections. BJP’s ally–JD(U), however, tried to downplay the controversy by saying that BJP stalwarts, including union home minister Amit Shah have declared that the 2025 assembly elections would be contested under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. On the other hand, RJD leader and spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari took a sarcastic jibe. “Why only the post of Deputy PM, why not PM?” he asked.
