BHOPAL: The politics in Madhya Pradesh has got fresh heat with the confrontation between the Congress and the pro-BJP Baba Ramdev. The Congress veteran leader Digvijay Singh issued strongly worded statement against Baba Ramdev. Not only that, he went to the extent of filing a complaint against him at the police thana.
Former CM Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday filed a police complaint against yoga guru Ramdev for allegedly spreading communal hatred through his social media video on ‘sharbat jihad’.

If police did not register an FIR, he would approach court, he said, calling Ramdev’s social media video. Addressing a press meet before approaching police, he said, “Ramdev’s video has come in which he appeals to the people not to drink Rooh Afza because it is manufactured by Muslims and the profits will go towards construction of mosques and madrasas. An FIR must be registered against such a person.” In the video, Ramdev isn’t heard naming Rooh Afza.
Singh alleged that Ramdev was stirring religious sentiments and spreading hatred to sell Patanjali products. “He is not Baba Ramdev but vyapari (trader) Ramdev,” Singh said. He alleged that Ramdev says in his social media post that people should drink Patanjali’s “gulab ka sharbat” so that gurukuls were constructed.
