Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu bagged the country’s first medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics with a silver in women’s 49kg category. China’s Zhihui Hou took the gold medal with a total lift of 210kg, also an Olympic record. Mirabai Chanu’s most successful Snatch lift 87kg and then lifted 115kg in clean and jerk that assured the Indian of a podium finish. Her last attempt was of 117kg, which she failed to lift successfully and finished with an overall lift of 202kg.
