NEW DELHI: Shell India chairman Vikram Singh Mehta will retire in October, the company said on Wednesday. Mehta, who served the energy group for 24 years, will be succeeded by Yasmine Hilton who is based in London.
A PhD in genetics, Hilton has been working with the Shell Group since 1979. She will be relocating to India in September, the company said.
“Since 1993, Vikram has significantly enabled growth across diverse Shell businesses in India and has set a strong platform for future expansion,” the company said.
Shell is the only major international energy company with a licence to retail petrol, diesel, ATF and specialty products such as lubricants and bitumen in India.
The company also has one liquefied natural gas terminal at Hazira in a joint venture with Total of France.
