One member in party organisation. Despite party policy, in several cases it is being implemented in violation. In the state alone there are several instances. A newspaper carried a survey of violation. According to the survey, sister of former Central Minister was occupying the post of vice chairman of the party organisation.
In another case daughter of state Cabinet Minister Sampatiya Uikey was also occupying a party post. In another case, son of Girish Gautam was also occupying a senior party post. Several instances of two members of the family occupying post in the party. The state party organisation has initiated steps to remove such cases. According to the policy of the state government, no officer can occupy two government houses. But this policy is not observed even by the top officers of the state. According to the list circulated by Home Department those who are occupying two houses are Jharjendra Jain who is posted as collector Umaria but he has not vacated the house which he was occupying in Bhopal.
The officers after being transferred to districts do not vacate the house which they were occupying in Bhopal. They do so because when they are transferred back to Bhopal they have to wait for months before, they get house of their liking. According to the list of the home department at present many officers have not vacated Bhopal house despite they have been allotted in the districts.. The list include Dudhir Kochar, Aditi Garg, IPS Mehtab Singh, Ratnakar Jha, Amit Sanghi, Umakant Chaudhary, M.L. Chaurasia.
Those who have been transferred outside Bhopal but still retain their Bhopal bungalow pay sometimes ten times more as rent. They do so because once they are posted in Bhopal they have to wait months and sometime year before they get suitable accommodation in Bhopal. Various excuses are made to retain Bhopal house despite their posting in district. The excuses are their children’s education, ailing parents etc.
A major rift was averted in M.P. Congress when Digvijay Singh clarified his stand about Kamal Nath blaming him for the fall of the Congress government. Earlier Digvijay blamed Kamal Nath for not honouring the agreements which he reached with Jyotiraditya Scindia. Subsequently Digvijay came out with clarification which averted the rift between two stalwarts of the Congress. Digvijay even visited Kamal Nath’s residence and clarified the position.
The Congress has completed the process of the appointments of presidents of district Congress committees but dissent voices have been raised about the persons who are included in various committees. It was for the first time that the committees have been constituted in all the district of the state. It was for the initiative of Rahul Gandhi that the districts were provided with the organisation. All the district committees were constituted at Delhi but dissent voices have been raised. It was surprising that dissent voices have been raised even by some members of the Congress working committee.
