GST Council decides to defer textile duty hike

 The GST Council has unanimously decided to defer hike in GST on textiles from 5 per cent to 12 per cent, reports said on Friday. The hike was to take effect from January 1, 2021. The decision was taken at the 46th GST Council meet that was chaired by Nirmala Sitharaman on the day.
